Facts About Abortion
Will my parent(s) find out that I went to court?
Your parents will not be notified by the court. Your court records are totally confidential. In fact, your name won’t even appear on the records, just your initials. You will use a case number to communicate to the court about your case, and even the judge won’t know your name. If your parents do somehow find out that you went to court, there may be some problems for you in terms of your personal relationship with them. Legally, however, you are within your rights to go to court instead of informing your parents about your pregnancy and your decision to have an abortion.
